Please take care of your parents... do not leave them in old age homes even if you have to sacrifice everything so you can look after them...

I'm thinking the same...I mean at a cost that can go up to 14k a month like this home...you would think that actually you can afford a retired nurse to take care of mum at home...guys, look after your parents....it's their last leg in life...it should be spent in the comfort and safety of home with dignity

De Witt Nursing Home in NYC is another place that should be closed down - or cleaned out in more ways than one!

I don't even wanna watch this, poor old lady. I hope this fat, retarded woman rots in jail!

Send her back to Africa in disgrace. The tribe will punish her as she will have no money to send to them.

She is in Africa... in East London S.A.

I will fkn kill her if that was my mother

This is so disgusting, how can she be let off with a warning?

Because of the wonderful justice system.... NOT.... in S.A.

I will not be putting my mum in a home ...NEVER! This nurse must be trialed and send to jail where a beating of a lifetime awaits her > sies maan sathane e!

It was horrendous and awful to watch this on Cart Blanch last Sunday. A "carer” beating
the ill frail old lady with open hands, fists on her face and elbows on her head, spraying her eye/face with a deodorant, kicking her on the stomach. Felt so sad for this elderly frail lady to go through that abuse and cruelty at the old
age home. The “carer” should be punished for her cruelty and malice. To experience this kind of abuse in an “upmarket old age home”?1? They should also be held accountable.

Actually it was sickening. I am glad the ouma is ok after all that beating. The worse thing of all, the poor ouma had no voice, even if she screamed for help, no one would have heard her screams. The family must sue the home, and make sure that Ncediswa is punished heavily.

I read the comments on Carte Blanche's page. The family is sueing and they have taken her out of the care facility. However, I believe Carte Blanch did a pathitic poor story.

We need Deborah Patta of 3rd Degree on their cases... DIE GEMORSE!

Was my thoughts too after I posted this.

This is absolutely appauling and cannot continue. It seems to be happening more and more. Moral of the story is get a carer IN YOUR HOME to look after your frail and elderly people!!.. I would NEVER trust any establishment after seeing this

# Glenda - Did you forget about those "carers" or "childminders" or whatever they call themselves these days who were abusing those small children in their own home???? The same story, they cold not speak and tell their parents. Their parents also caught them on camera!

Indeed, it doesnt matter where the abusive monster is, she will still be abusive! In a care facility or your home - a monster is a monster!

My gran was blessed to have been in a home that was taking care of her well before she passed....well she could talk and had a mouth full to say about anything anytime. What more about those who cant - sies to the is rotten "nurse". I have experience of my won baby being left alone by a "nanny" at 4 months crying her eyes out whilst she was busy with her boyfriend. She didnt know my sister would arrive at my house unannounced and we let her go on the spot. She still had the nerve to take us to small claims court for her salary!

my heart bleeds

Oh my gawd! It's worse than the scariest horror movie. Couldn't watch some of it. Big fat bitch deserves to rot in jail and have bigger more hardened criminals beat her up, beat her into a pulp...sauce..liquid...Let off with a warning? Oh my gawd! Nee maar wag...God slaap nie!

You get the same situation in some of our upmarket PRIVATE Hospitals where elderly patients are beaten up and bruised. I still dont know why we cannot have camera's in each ward to c whats happening when we are not around. Many a truth will also be revealed. We had the same experience when our elderly parents were in private hospitals. Alas, no cameras to prove anything. Bruises tell a lot !!!!!!!!!!!

I hope she rots in jail. she disguts me, im so upset, that is so cruel.... please may we have a follow up on the story, i hope our opinions count. isnt there anything we can do ????

The vulgarity that I so badly want to spew out right now. I can't imagine how anybody has the heart to do this. WTF !!!!!!!

You must remember, some of these types can burn people alive in xenophobic attacks...so what is beating an old person who is not in their own race group? There is a distinct lack of humanity and human emempathy in some of our SA black people like the one in this video.

Please calm down, dont be so quick to make this about race! It may have absolutely nothing to do with! Its extremely despicable we all agree, but please dont trivialise it with race stuff!!!!!!!!!

Its not about black people in general, as i said. Its about a disturbing lack of human empathy seen in some black south africans.

Hi All,
As a family we have been deeply hurt by these events. The things which our loved mother/gran/great grandmother had to endure has been truly traumatic. We thought placing her in Lily Kirchmann was increasing her quality of life. They offered professional care, great facilities and people which my gran could connect with and keep entertained through out the day. At no point did we ever think placing her in such an environment would open her up to the abuse which it did. We placed our faith in an institution, thinking it would better our loved mother/gran/grandmothers life and that faith has been torn apart and replaced by the feeling of utter failure. It hurts to know we delivered her unknowingly to the wolves. And the question remains, how can this occur in an institution which is supposed to pride itself on caring for people?
After much consideration the family decided to tell the story, in hope that it will raise awareness of this abuse taking place. In this regard, as a family we have decided to show the footage. Thus please share this story and if you have any concerns over your own loved ones in these institutions, don't be afraid to question everything and demand answers!
On a personal note, I would like to thank you all for the support which the public has shown, it is humbling to see people, my gran has never met, care so deeply. So thank you. And even though my blood boils at the thought of what this cruel person did to my gran or the thought of her smiling gallantly at the family in the court room while being allowed to still walk free. I plead that everyone refrains from making this a race issue. Not over my grans cause, she would not want it. This was purely a terrible person who was given the chance to attack a defenceless old lady and took it!

Morning Keir. You are a very brave person indeed and you have God in your heart. God bless and keep the strength going. You have much more faith than I have. I am praying for you and your mom/ gran. Hugs xxx

Well said chezzie - I, together with (I'm sure) all the other people here, second what you have said!

Was absolutely horrified with what had happened to your loved one and well done in deciding to hi light an issue that could of remained known only to a selected few. Very glad that you decided to go public and yes... the people must realize too and understand, that a lot of the aged in these places, cannot always tell you verbally some of the situations and maybe incidences that they have had to endure. Naturally not all places are like this... but there have been even known incidences of just petty crime alone, which could just be sometimes the tip of an iceberg. Obviously not as horrific as your grans case, but these carers shouldn't be allowed to just get away with any situation. They are suppose to be there, in a trusted position all round. Hopefully now too, this will make the public more aware of and from now on be able to monitor a little bit better, their own aged folk in places that are especially there, just to nurture, care and make the elderly's last days peaceful and cared for. There are always certain signs that one can perhaps watch out for, which alone can tell a story. The public must be made more aware of these type of situations and certainly be more alert. The fact that you decided to go public..... Awesomeness.... and well done in investigating and taking the necessary steps! I salute you! :)

I saw this on Carte Blanche and it brought tears to my eyes, thank you for clearing the race issue,I firmly believe she is just an evil person,I hope she gets what's coming to her God Bless you and your family

Please this is not a case of assault, but murder considering the aged parents age and the fact that she could not speak or write. I wonder what the old age home had to say about their SICK, employee considering that they getting R14 000 per month. The big fat caregiver should actually not be released but kept in jail to teach her a lesson. HORRIFIC !!!!!!!!!!!

Watched this on Carte Blanche this past Sunday. Her daughter was paying over R14k to this institution monthly because her mom needed 24/7 care. She also visited her mum twice every day to ensure that she was being properly looked after. Sometimes people don't really have a choice when frail care is required. The owners should be sued because at that cost they should be more vigilant with their staff and patients! And the perpetrator should definitely not work with the aged or children ever again.

#Shoane and # Gypsum - there are times when this is unfortunately unavoidable. My mum was 80 and we did not have a choice in the matter, she had to have 24 hour medical care which we could not give her - but luckily she was in a home where she was given wonderful care - we never saw or even suspected anything. We always asked other people how my mom was treated and they always replied in the positive. She had another lady in the room with her and she always told us the staff were excellent in all their care. So we were lucky and grateful.
But there will always be someone somewhere who will do something so awful to someone weaker than themselves. God help this little old ouma.

This is not the only incident from this same Home. For many years the staff bribe the old people when they ask for normal daily routine things to be done. They steal their toiletries and other things. The nursing home is in denial.

I am so lucky to be able to take care of my 86 year old mom and I honestly hope to God that I never have to place her in a home. My heart is bleeding. I hope ouma gets better soon !

I cant watch video but thank you the daughter for been so caring! I feel for the aged everyday! Get well soon 'granny'...

This "thing" is not a carer, to me she is racist individual who cannot hit or abuse or own, so she takes great pleasure in abusing an old white woman who cannot talk. How many others has she done this to? This old lady is definitely not the first. She deserves to be locked up for life - but she is out on bail - probably gonna skip the country. Disgusting.

There is NEVER an excuse to mistreat the elderly. NEVER!!! NOT EVER!!!

I have had personal experience with bad nursing homes. Staff underpaid and way overworked. Too many patients, not enough attendants. Especially at night. This is the beginning of the problem. Then, these homes hire people who they are aware have "problems" that could cause patient injury, but they will work cheaper than others so they get the job. My relative suffered a broken hip and lay in the floor for about 5 hours screaming for help. Only when the day shift came in did they discover her in the floor. She had some of those "mysterious" bruises and unexplained injuries, too. Watch your loved ones! Don't just visit on Sunday's!! Check in on them every day! And, question the staff!! Demand answers if you discover bruises or injuries! And, if injuries happen a second time, get them out of there that minute!

Dear Heaven above! What I would have done to that "thing" who dared to treat another human being like that. Nursing used to be a calling - nowadays it's just a job for many who enter the profession. It's a difficult line of work, but this is inexcusable behaviour. Total abuse. I hope that this nurse NEVER gets work in her profession again. I also hope she has no children or elderly parents herself. I would go postal on her if I got her in my hands.

I would love to get my hands on this fat, uneducated, low-life amoeba. She would NEVER get up again. Posting this on Facebook in order to name and shame this thing who is unfortunately called a human being. May her life never be filled with joy. Not the only nursing home to do this - there is one in Durban where the elderly are sedated all day long so they don't cause a problem (happened to my mother years ago and we promptly took her out). Obviously can't trust anyone these days.

WTF FAT BITCH

That left me in tears. Is this what our world has come to? What a bully!

I can only imagine how many other old people and children have suffered in her hands over the years. Lord have Mercy

Agree to Disagree WOP-
Racialistic background, and suffered under same consequence Not being a White person. Crime is everywhere , but i am interested in our Born n Bred Country. It is Definitely Not the same. One just has to Look around. The COuntry , the people's Living conditions, the Enviroment,,, Deterioration fast,,,, for what Once was Pride to be In and Look On. Like the Frail Old Lady is
Abused and unfortunately the Abusors, and murderers and rapist of our country simply get off freely ,with a dismissal.
'You could be right though,' Some foreigners are fine and good a freal pleasure but some others walk and act as if they Own our country and we have no right to tread on our own soil. 'There will always be attitude and difference in people as individuals.'
'I take offence to this attitude' But like you state it is a Person from this Very Country that is SO CRUEL. This country is breeding more and more Angry Cruel people
'Integrity' has come to Nothing in this Country. Sad,,,I apologise for NOT thinking clearly,,,I was Simply Angry at that woman Abusor

I am speechless! Never seen anything like this! Broke my heart!!

I will always cherish the yrs i worked as home health aide. Our elderly are precious! They have decades of life to talk about, each has their own history. This breaks my heart! I used to go to homes where there were some that were suffering from Alzheimer's, it was a difficult job, but so rewarding! Thank God there was a camera in this room! There should be in every facility that takes care of the disabled and elderly. Just like with children, these are our most vulnerable, we HAVE to protect them ! I miss my job so much. I helped these ppl stay in their homes and live out whatever time they had in peace and dignity!

her day will come - this poor elderly woman is unable to defend herself - she is small and frail - and her caregiver is fat and young - do unto others as you would have done unto you - revenge is mine sayeth the Lord
